The Longest River in China - Yangtze River

Stretching more than six thousand kilometers, the Yangtze River tops the third largest river in the world after the Nile and the Amazon, and the longest river in China. The Chinese call it the 'mother river', which flows through 13 provinces and with eight tributaries like Huangpu River, Min River, Xiang River, Wu River, etc.. Yangtze River is open to shipping all year round. It has been a crucial transportation route with main cities along its banks for thousands of years.

The Yangtze is the cradle of Chinese civilization and it feeds the people with rice 70% of the sum. Lots of important sites were unearthed in the Yangtze Valley, amongst them, the Wu Moutain Daxi Culture is the most famous one with ancient articles, such as barbs and fishing net.
