Travel to Tibet can be month long, as long as you have enough interest and time. But for most travelers, 1 or 2 weeks there are already eye-opening. The highlights of Tibet are the natural scenery composed of the snow-capped mountains, holy lakes and grasslands, fabulous and historic monasteries including Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace, and Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and the red-cheeked Tibetan people with Buddhism faith.
If you have limited time, for instance, 4 or 5 days, stick around in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Everything you want to experience about Tibet, you can find in Lhasa, and there the altitude is relatively low, the facilities are good. If you wish to travel outside of Lhasa, the Namtso Lake or Yamdrok Lake can be done as a day trip from Lhasa. If you have more time, go further to Shigatse and Gyantse and even extend to Mt. Everest Base Camp and Nepal.
Going through the tours below will provide you with options for your visit and help you plan an ideal itinerary.
