China Airlines to Raise Fuel Surcharges for Domestic Flights

Chinese airlines will raise fuel surcharges on airline tickets in China to help cover rising fuel costs, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

In a policy to start on July 1, 2008, passengers on China domestic flights of more than 800 kilometers (497 miles) will pay 150 Yuan ($22) for fuel, up from 100 Yuan ($15). Passengers on shorter flights will pay 80 Yuan ($12), up from 60 Yuan ($9).
