Dong People to Celebrate Duoye Festival in Sanjiang

People of Dong ethnic groups will celebrate the Duoye (group dance) Festival in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The festival takes place from Oct. 1 to 7, showcasing the ethnic area’s unique features and customs, with performances including bullfighting, live-action performance, Lusheng music and dance, a hundred-family banquet, a bonfire party, etc. Meanwhile, the first Sanjiang International Bullfight Festival will take place during the period, attracting famous bulls from Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and internally from Yunnan, Hunan, Guizhou, and other provinces to join the competition.

Located 113km east of Congjiang in Guizhou province, 65km west of Longsheng (a county of Guilin noted for rice terraces), Sanjiang is an obligation stopover if you enter Guangxi from southwest Guizhou. It is famous for the well-preserved Dong villages with their wooden houses, drum towers, and Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, which is the icon of Sanjiang and the most remarkable bridge among over 110 bridges in Sanjiang. To travel here is to encounter the stunning beauty and colorful ethnic culture that Sanjiang has to offer!
