Red Leaves Dot the Landscape of Badaling Great Wall

Leaves started turning red in recent days at the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing, which is packed with tourists coming to admire the scenery of fall foliage.

According to reports, the temperature at Badaling Great Wall has dropped to minus 0℃ at night for 3 days, and the average temperature difference between day and night reaches up to over 10℃. Lasting frost and dramatic temperature differences accelerate the leaves to change color. Currently, 90 percent of leaves have turned red, marking the high season for fall foliage watching. It is predicted that the best autumn scenery at Badaling Great Wall lasts around one week.

The Badaling section of the Great Wall is the best-preserved and one of the most imposing sections of the stretching Great Wall. It is also the most-visited and most accessible section.
