Dongchuan Red Land with Luoxia Valley - God's Palette

If there is one word that best captures Dongchuan Red Land, it must be "palette". It is such an amazing spectacle that you can never imagine if you have never been there. Covering an area of over 200,000 square kilometers, the Red Land scenery is centralized around Huashitou of Xintian Township, about 50km away from the Dongchuan County seat. The highlights include Jinxiu Garden, Qicai Slope, Yuepu Hollow, Yueliang Field, Damakan, and Luoxia Valley.

Luoxia Valley is the most dazzling color in this painting. Luoxia Valley, also called Luoxiagou in Chinese, means a gully of fallen rosy clouds and it's situated between two mountains on both sides. Thanks to Creator's superb craftsmanship, it is a wonder that the breathtaking landscape should hide in such a gully. It is outlined by the crops' curve, ornamented with a terrace in various shapes, vibrant out of the multi-color wave. How to get there: Driving to Dongchuan from Kunming takes about 3 hours.

Best Time to Visit: September - December. The crops in this season get ripe and present gorgeous colors. It is highly recommended for photographers to take their cameras and photo of some fantastic landscapes. Dongchuan Red Land is basically an all-year-round destination. In Spring it is the ocean of flowers; in Summer it is the wave of a cornfield; in Autumn it is the fairyland on earth.
