Beijing Will Discontinue Using the WC

With the 2008 Olympic Games just around the corner, city officials in Beijing have been working hard to make Beijing more accessible to visitors from all countries. Updating signage throughout the city has been a major undertaking, and has almost been completed. The final step is to change public toilet signage from the letters "WC" to "Toilet". Since many English speaking countries each have their way of describing this very necessary utilitarian facility, Beijing has decided to use a word that will be understood by all English speaking countries.
